M/Others Who Make is committed to supporting female and non-binary people to sustain their creative identities, alongside their caring roles, whatever those may be. A ‘patron’ is a high status person who offers financial aid, and the word derives from the latin, ‘pater,’ for father. In line with our non-hierarchical, m/other-led movement, we thought we would re-invent the term. We offer you, instead, the Matronage Scheme. This is our membership programme, which you can join for as little as £3 a month.
As a member you receive:
CONNECTION:
Free access to monthly International peer support.
Free access to our popular annual MWM Peer Mentoring Programme
CREATIVITY:
Discounted access to the M/Other Den. An opportunity to present work-in-progress for feedback (quarterly).
Discounted access to book creative workshops.
Discounted opportunity to apply to take part in the M/Other Lab - a 6 session series of workshops with a closed group to support you in developing a project or piece of work (annual).
COMMUNITY:
Free access to online community for groups on similar personal journeys or with shared identities or lived experiences - e.g bereaved m/others; adoptive; those on fertility journeys; post-menopausal; single or non-co-habiting; black and brown; neurodivergent…
If you also desire to connect in person you are welcome to search our list of locations and reach out to the hub leaders. Please note the regional in-person hubs run autonomously and may require a separate payment for events.
